The C.O.P.E. project went to a Study Visit in Austria, on October 18 and 19, to explore how Social Prescribing is implemented in Austria.
All parts of this study visit met at The Austrian National Public Health Institute. The hosting team was represented by Prof. Dr. Herwig Ostermann, Executive Director and by Dr. Daniela Rojatz, Senior Health Expert of the Kompetenzzentrum Gesundheitsförderung und Gesundheitssystem.
The Social Prescribing intervention in Austria answers to non-medical needs and challenges, ensures equal health opportunities and promotes social participation.
This Study Visit examined the model and stakeholders, the role of the link workers, the target population, the delivery mechanisms and the partnerships implemented between services and within the community.
The Director of National Health Institute confirmed how Social Prescribing is a key tool to support the Community Intervention Model.
The Study Visit in Austria give us the opportunity to explore other possibilities and to open new horizons of framework and a good strategy to implement or to inspire us to expand this broader area of health promotion.
